Biography
Matthieu Domaszewski received his PhD degree in Applied Mechanics from the Polish Academy of Sciences (Warsaw) in 1981 and his Habilitation for Direction of Research (HDR) from the University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6) in 1990. Since 1991, he is Professor of Computational Mechanics, actually at the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbeliard (UTBM). His actual domain of research is concerned with Structural Topology Optimization by metaheuristic methods. He is author or co-author of over 50 publications and communications. He supervised or co-supervised nine PhD Theses.
Matthieu Domaszewski was Visiting Scholar at the Department of General Engineering, Illinois Genetic Algorithms Laboratory (ILLIGAL), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, during 12 months in 2001. He was Director of M3M Laboratory (EA 3318) of UTBM from 2006 to 2010. In 2010, he obtained a distinction « Chevalier des Palmes Académiques » from the French Ministry of Education.
Matthieu Domaszewski obtained a grant from Germany Foundation of Research (DFG) and was Visiting Professor at the University of Freiburg in 2011/2012. He was a member of over twenty Scientific Committess of International Conferences and reviewer for international scientific journals : Computers and Structures, Advances in Engineering Software, Computational Materials Science, Computer Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering
